What Is A Miner?

In the cryptocurrency world, a 'miner' is a network node that finds valid proof of work for new blocks.

It does this by repeatedly hashing the work relayed by the network (hashed block header).

Mining can take place "solo," mining on a local wallet, or when the difficulty is high enough, as is the case for most of the successful crypto coins in a Mining pool.
