Segwit2x Not Dead Just Yet? Rogue BitPico Group Vows To Proceed With Hard Fork

Bitcoin SegWit2x Goes Through Regardless Of Major Supporters Stepping Down

It seems the SegWit2x drama lives on, and not everyone is happy with the stepping down of SegWit2x supporters after all.

The famous mailing list, where all the Bitcoin latest comedy got started some time ago, has received last night an announcement by obscure entity BitPico.

The BitPico group of developers has announced that they are proceeding with Bitcoin segwit2x hard fork, despite almost everyone supporting stepping down yesterday through official announcements.

The message of BitPico was :

“We are carrying out the fork regardless as everything is set in motion. Backing down the difficulty right now is a strategy,” BitPico wrote from a Microsoft iCloud address.

“Wonder why 30 percent network hash-rate disappeared? It’s ours; the miners that will continue what is set in motion... A handful of humans cannot stop what they have no control over…”

Regrettably, for BitPico group, there was no 30% network hash-rate disappearing last night.

The same BitPico group has appeared on the mailing list before, on September 18, 2017, with the previous message saying:  We own 1.62% of Bitcoin's network hashrate.

That is a considerable amount of hashrate growth in under two months and seems highly unlikely they have anything over 2%.

It's quite probable that we are dealing with people left hurt from the 80% free fall of SegWit2x features yesterday or some other speculating shenanigans happening as of lately.

We shall keep you posted, on updates (if any) :)
