December 18 was the first day in history where cryptocurrencies surpassed the $600 Billion mark. More than half of it was Bitcoin alone.
At the time of writing, the total cryptocurrency market capitalization has reached a whooping $609 Billion increased almost three-fold from 232 Billion on November.
Bitcoin remains the king of cryptocurrencies as it commands the 51.8% of market cap. From $130 Billion on November 21 it is now above $315 Billion.
Nevertheless, Bitcoin’s share has been decreased significantly since the beginning of 2017 when it was above 80%.
The chart below shows the rise of altcoins in the second half of 2017, especially Ethereum, Ripple and lately Bitcoin Cash.
