Watch out for those pesky Bitcoin transaction fees! Sending $100 could cost you $20 currently!
The last few days, with the increased hype around Bitcoin due to the release of futures from CBOE, CME, NASDAQ, and others and becoming mainstream by making new all-time highs, the network fees for a single transaction have sky rocketed to a staggering $20 at the time of writing.
The number of unconfirmed transactions is currently at 93.000+ according to data from blockchain.info.
These same high fees, are found not only on user wallets as one would expect but also on exchanges that adjust their network fee policy real-time, such as cryptopia.
Have a look at your transaction fees when sending bitcoins for the next few days, to make sure there are no surprises in the end!
